Confetti Party Cake

Yields: 12 servings
Ingredients:
1 box Betty Crocker® SuperMoist® Cake Mix (any flavor)
Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on cake mix box
2 containers (8.4 oz each) Betty Crocker® Cloud White Cupcake Icing
Betty Crocker® Yellow Gel Food Color
Betty Crocker® Red Gel Food Color
Betty Crocker® Blue Gel Food Color
Betty Crocker® Decorating Decors (as desired)
Instructions:
1. Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pans). Grease and flour bottom and side of 1(9-inch) round cake pan. Place paper baking cups in 12 regular-size muffin cups. Make cake as directed on box using water, oil and eggs. Use half of batter for one 9-inch round pan and remaining batter for 12 cupcakes.
2. Bake as directed on box. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pans to cooling racks. Cool completely, about 1 hour.
3. Place 1 tablespoon icing into small bowl; stir in 1 drop yellow food color. In another small bowl, place 1/4 cup icing and 2 drops red food color; stir. In third small bowl, place 1/2 cup icing and 4 drops blue food color; stir.
4. Place cake layer, rounded side down, on serving plate. Frost top and side with white icing. Frost 7 cupcakes with blue icing, 4 cupcakes with pink icing and 1 cupcake with yellow icing. Place 1 blue cupcake on center of white frosted cake. Place remaining blue cupcakes, sides touching, in circle around center cupcake. Place 2 rows of 2 pink cupcakes on top center of blue cupcakes. Place yellow cupcake on top center. Sprinkle with decors to decorate as shown. Store loosely covered at room temperature.
