Red, White, and Yum Cookies

Yields: 12 servings
Ingredients:
1 package Betty Crocker® Sugar Cookie Mix
1 egg
1 stick (1/2 cup) butter, softened
1 carton Betty Crocker® Gel Food Color, Classic Colors
1 pouch Betty Crocker® Cookie Crème Filling, Vanilla Flavor
Instructions:
1 – Preheat oven to 350°F.
2 – Mix together cookie mix, egg, and softened butter until a soft dough is formed.
3 – Split the dough in half. To half of the dough, add about a teaspoon of Blue Gel Food Color. Mix together until the color is uniform.
4 – In a clean bowl, add about a teaspoon of Red Gel Food Color to the other half of the dough. Mix together until the color is uniform.
5 – Roll dough into tablespoon sized balls and bake on a parchment lined cookie sheet for 7 to 9 minutes. When done, the tops of the cookies will spring back up when touched lightly.
6 – Allow cookies to cool completely.
7 – Squeeze 1/2 tablespoon of Vanilla Cookie Crème onto the red cookies, and then place the blue cookies on top to form a sandwich.
